Dear friends of liberty,

Summer is coming. It is the time of fooling around and overwhelming boredom only for loafers, freeloaders and shirkers. It is the time for recharging, reshaping and updating your brain power and your soul vitality.

On August 16 – 21, 2010 Scientific Research Mises Center (Belarus) with its Ukrainian and German partners are honored to invite you to take part in the Belarusian-Ukrainian Summer Liberty Camp. It is our traditional event but this time is it in Ukraine. It is set in a different environment with new partners, new stimulating young guys from Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova.

The Odessa Liberty Camp is for those who are enthusiastic activists of freedom movement and who promote liberty in everyday life. The Summer Liberty Camp is not for showing off just once a year in the pleasant environment. It is a reward for intellectual integrity and social activism.

            Belarusian-Ukrainian Summer Liberty Camp is a wonderful opportunity to

• Improve your understanding of freedom;
• Check your premises and sharpen your senses;
• Fathom your identity, intellectual strengths and vulnerabilities;
• Get an in-depth understanding of the current intellectual and cultural environment;

• Belarusian-Ukrainian Summer Liberty Camp
• provides board and lodging at the Black Sea side next to Odessa;
• holds round table debates and lectures;
• teaches English via lessons, interaction and discussion of the most burning issues;
• enables participants to master debate skills;
• ensures cordial atmosphere for exchange of knowledge, opinions, passions and tastes;
• creates cross-cultural, interdisciplinary crowd of individuals and personalities.

All discussions and debates will be in English (except for early morning waking hours and near-midnight time of collective pondering, deliberation and reflection.

The Jury will consider applications and choose 20 participants. The decision of the jury will be announced by June 20, 2010. The Camp will be attended by bright Ukrainian, Moldovan and German intellectuals. Friendship and closer cooperation of liberty lovers is what we are up to.

Your chances of becoming one of the lucky 20 increase if

• you write a small article (up to 3 pages) on one of the following topics; 1) “How to covert a socialist into libertarian without guns and poison”; 2) “Should communism be banned and its symbols prohibited as fascism and its symbols are?” 3) “How to protect private property from democracy”
• you take part in various events held by Mises Center during 2009/2010 intellectual season;
• you actively promote ideas of freedom;
• you admire works of A. Rand, L. von Mises, M. Rothbard and other libertarians;
• you are interested in intellectual battles and endeavors;
• you are not an idle tourist that claims to support liberty but does it just one a year at the Camp at the expense of other people.

The organizers will cover all the expenses connected with the participation in the Camp.
